After several renovations and changes of use, a 1500s palace in the heart of the Capital has been brought to new life by Zaha Hadid’s London studio, which has transformed it into a sumptuous hotel: this is Hotel Romeo, a true celebration of art, architecture and design. H2OStyle was called upon to design two distinctive stainless steel pools that fully embody the company’s technical skill and production flexibility.

The long, narrow, zig-zagging indoor pool is made of steel with an indoor bench that runs continuously along its entire length and allows guests to enjoy the view of the courtyard through the adjacent windows, indulging in a relaxing massage thanks to the air massage and whirlpool jets.

The indoor pool is directly connected through a glass door to the outdoor courtyard pool, whose curved shape evokes two petals of a flower.
One side consists of radiused steps with acrylic treads to show the area below, where there is an archaeological area with artifacts from Roman times.
The other side of the pool has air massage seating.
A walkway runs halfway across the pool, whose perimeter overflow grates are made of stone.
Another noteworthy feature of the two in-ground pools lies on the support surface, which is made of structural beams: due to the particularity of the area under archaeological protection, the pool was specifically studied, designed and engineered to be functional to the wooden and steel truss.

The outdoor pool was made in several parts with small dimensions, to fit into the passageways and reach the courtyard, where they were welded.

Shapes, technical requirements, site peculiarities and complexity of the installation required drawing on all the expertise of H2OStyle, leading to the realization of an amazing and unique project.
